With a history spanning nearly a century, no other company has been as closely involved in shaping the games of tennis, golf, baseball and American football as Wilson. As a creator of breakthrough technologies, Wilson has produced iconic classics and earned a strong reputation in every sport it has been involved in. Supported by generations of athletes, Wilson is an American icon in the world of sports equipment.
Wilson is a leading manufacturer of ball sports equipment. It specializes in tennis, baseball, American football, golf, basketball, softball, badminton and squash. In general, its areas of influence can be divided into three groups: Racquet Sports, Team Sports and Golf.
The original Kevlar Pro Staff (Sampras` racquet) was over 350g in weight and had a small head (85 sq. in); Roger Federer also uses a similar model of racquet. He now uses the BLX Six-one Tour, which is 354g with a 90" head. In late 2009, Wilson introduced a line of racquets codenamed 20x, which was later called BLX. This line replaced the previous K-Factor series with new technologies.

In a constant race to innovate technology and design to develop revolutionary products that can improve the game of all athletes, from beginners, amateurs, and professionals.
The company's roots go back to Schwarzchild & Sulzberger (later renamed Sulzbeger & Son's), a New York-based meat canning company with plants in New York, Chicago, and Kansas City.
Sulzberger founded the Ashland Manufacturing Company in 1913 using byproducts from their slaughterhouse. It began manufacturing tennis racket strings, violin strings, and surgical sutures. However, it soon also became involved in the production of baseball shoes and tennis rackets.
In 1915, Thomas E. Wilson, the first president of the meat canning company Morris & Company, was named president and named the company the Thomas E. Wilson Company. The company acquired Hetzinger Knitting Mills, a manufacturer of sports uniforms, and a small company that manufactured golf balls. The company soon began producing equipment for football and basketball as well.
In 1918, Wilson changed its focus from canned beef and changed the company name from the Sulzberger company to Wilson & Co. (which eventually became the Iowa Beef Packers. The canning company continued to operate under general management until 1966, when it was sold to LTV.)
Under the leadership of new president L.B. Icely, the company acquired the Chicago Sporting Goods Company and signed a sponsorship deal with the Chicago Cubs. The company also hired leather designer Arch Turner, who designed leather footballs.
In 1925, the company changed its name to Wilson-Western Sporting Good, following a distribution agreement with Western Sporting Goods. After Rockne's death, the company focused on producing golf equipment, Gene Sarazen won the 1932 British Open.
In 1931, the company changed its name to Wilson Sporting Goods Company.
During World War II, a new soccer ball was introduced, featuring fine leather, hand-stitched edges, and a triple lining. The ball became the official ball of the National Football League.
After the war, the company focused on tennis. Jack Kramer joined the company and developed his own line of tennis rackets.
Icley died in 1950, but the company continued to grow, largely due to the calculations and market research done by Icley.
55 Wilson acquired Ohio-Kentrucky Manufacturing to produce soccer balls. In 1964, he acquired Wonder Products Company, which manufactured toys and molded items. The pre-molding shop was adapted for the production of protective equipment for football and baseball, such as masks, helmets, and leg protection.
In 1967, the company became part of Ling-Temco_vought (LTV Corporation). In 1970, it was bought by PepsiCo. The company sells official balls for the National Basketball Association and the National Football League, and supplies uniforms to most Major League Baseball teams. In 1979, Wilson tennis balls were the first official balls of the US Open, and remain so to this day. In 2006, they also began to hold the Australian Open.
In 1985, Westray Capital Corporation was acquired and became a subsidiary of WSGC Holdings. In 1989, WSGC was absorbed by Bogey Acquisitions Company, which is a subsidiary of Amer Group Ltd.
Wilson tennis rackets have been popular with many professional players. Pete Sampras used a specific model to win 14 Grand Slam tournaments. The Wilson brand is created by the players who use these rackets, including Jack Kramer (who created his own series), Jimmy Connors, Chris Evert, Novak Djokovic, and Steffi Graf.
